19th - 21st May
We spent the 3 nights in Broken Hill.
We had dinner at the Palace Hotel, which was
originally owned by a crazy guy called Mario.
He had murals painted over every single wall in the
pub, and it’s a mishmash of paintings with horses in one picture, a mermaid in
another one, and even the Himalayan Mountains.
Then you look up and see Italian frescoes on the
ceiling.
It was also the location of the movie “Priscilla, Queen of
the Desert” so a very interesting place.
It was sold recently to 7 young investors who’ve
done the pub up and it’s really looking fantastic.
It’s a huge with 3 levels, with intricate lacework
around the verandah.
