Albert - Rabbit Trap Hotel

Our first stop was at the Rabbit Trap Hotel in Albert.
It’s about 500 kms northwest of Sydney, and about 12 people live there.
The Rabbit Trap is famous for … you guessed it – a rabbit trap!
The strange thing is that it’s been called that for years, but until now
there’s never been a rabbit trap anywhere in sight.
Somebody has built a HUGE steel rabbit trap, but hadn’t set it up yet and
was in the shed out the back. A few
weeks ago Channel 7 Sunrise went up
there and did an article on it. So
they got a crane and popped the trap onto the roof of the pub and when the film
crew left, then took it down again.
It’s due to be installed permanently soon. The
camping is across the road from the pub so it’s just a couple of steps to some
beers and a lovely dinner.
